Classic Toyota

Our team at Classic Toyota wishes you a Happy 2016! We hope this year brings hours of safe, enjoyable driving. We’ve left off 2015 with some amazing news regarding Toyota topping the IIHS review. Our Toyota dealership values safety, but for the first item in 2016, we’re looking toward the future from a technological angle.

The International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 has plenty in store for car enthusiasts. Toyota unveiled its plan for shaping the future of its vehicles, which entails enhancing them from a mobile communication standpoint. It wasn’t just for show, either — although some of the features presented were future concepts, the rest of them may soon be coming to upcoming new Toyota cars.

Toyota plans on forging technology that makes driving easier for the user, automated, and zero-emission. The Las Vegas Convention Center displayed several examples of what the company has in store for the future. The centerpiece is the Toyota Smart Center, a hub of sorts that connects drives the connection between the car, the user, and Toyota. Using secure cloud data, the system gathers insight from other vehicles as well as deliver personalized services to each user. One example of such service is Agent+, an assistant who is able to predict likely driving destinations based on travel history and provide helpful information.

Other futuristic demonstrations involved the Mobility Teammate Concept, a fruit of years of research and development. This technology aims at striking a balance between self-driving cars but leaving some control to the drivers. The Toyota FCV Plus concept vehicle was also shown off, displaying exciting possibilities of using hydrogen fuel cells to power cars.

Are you excited about the future just as much as we? Our Toyota dealership serving Chicago and Gurnee areas is looking forward to how these developments will impact the future models of cars like the 2016 Toyota Camry or the 2016 Toyota Prius.
