Toyota Breaks its USA Production Record

While we’re slowly settling into 2016, a new statistic from Toyota regarding the end of 2015 emerged, breaking an important record.

Last year marked an important milestone for Toyota history. In the U.S., over two million Toyota vehicles were produced in 2015, and a really close number of car engines as well. The specifics hone in at 2,035,028 for Toyota cars and 1,933,702 engines. The company points out multiple factors as indicators of a high market demand: low fuel prices, an economy that’s doing better, and strong consumer demand for new Toyota cars like Corolla, Camry, RAV4, and Tacoma.

Toyota hit many milestones in 2015. In Texas, it started the production of the all-new Toyota Tacoma, creating over 100,000 models of the 2014 and 2015 version. Indiana’s high output brought it to an all time 4-million record. Alabama achieved a similar record but with engines, simultaneously boosting their output of the V6. Mississipi rounded out a great number on everyone’s favorite Toyota Corolla, reaching 500,000 units. Lastly, Mexico’s Baja California production plant added a third crew and a third shift to meet this increased demand for Toyota cars.
